Selling and Valuations
We shall be pleased to receive material you may wish to sell.

We offer free, no obligation valuations here at our premises situated near Wellington.
Our valuers will appraise your collection whilst you are present and provide you with an overall estimate at current market value. Simply telephone or email us to arrange an appointment.
If you have a large collection that is difficult to transport then we can arrange a home visit or collection service. Home visits for the purpose of valuation only may incur a fee to cover time and travel. Probate valuations in writing can be provided at request.
Smaller items can be sent by post to Somerset Stamp Auctions, Hill Farm, Hemyock, Cullompton EX15 3UZ
All material once received is covered by our insurance.
Outright cash purchases can also be offered in some cases.
COMMISSION AND CHARGES
Commission is charged at 18% (inclusive of VAT) of the hammer price.
No charge is made for insurance. Nor are there any other hidden fees such as lotting, storage, unsold etc.
Trade terms are available on request.
RESERVES
All lots are reserved by us at 75% of the estimate.
The vendor is entitled to place different reserves on their lots, however these must not exceed the estimated value as stated in the auction catalogue.
Reserves can only be accepted by us in writing and must reach us at least three days before the sale date.
If supplying us with reserves at the time of submitting the items these would have been noted and it is not essential to confirm these.
PAYMENT TO VENDORS
We pay vendors for lots sold 42 days after the sale. Payment is made by BACS. In the event we do have a vendors bank details then a cheque will be posted.
Where an extension has been granted for expertisation of an item this will be extended until a result has been received.
CASH PURCHASES
In some cases outright cash purchases can be made if preferred.
